While state House Minority Leader Lawrence Cafero Jr., right, debates the demerits of your Democratic legislative supermajority’s 2009-11 state budget Monday night, hard-working Reps. Barbara Lambert, D-Milford, and John F. Hennessy, D-Bridgeport, play card games on their laptops while other Democratic lawmakers catch up on the night’s baseball games and otherwise surf the Web. Way to earn your money. Way to take your job seriously. Way to ‘faithfully discharge, according to law, the duties of the office of state representative to the best of your abilities.’ And you wonder why the state is going to hell in a handbasket.
