Modelcraft, one of Thomaston's long-time manufacturing companies moved over to Plymouth to account for its expansion.
The company makes parts for medical and aerospace equipment. The company has been in business since 1965 and is currently owned by Al Gravel. Since 2004, when he purchased Modelcraft, his revenues went from $1.4 million to $4 million. He has doubled his number of employees from 18 to 35 and thus ran out of room at his Thomaston location.
He turned to Traver IDC to help him with the move from Thomaston to Plymouth. The company was moving from a 13,000 square foot space to one almost double in size.
Traver IDC helped Modelcraft by providing a full turn-key electrical project to facilitate the relocation. This included power distribution and machinery distribution.
Commenting on Traver IDC's performance, Gravel said, "I just wanted to let you know what a great job your employees did with our relocation hook-up. It was done in a timely manner and I appreciate all the hard work the guys did to get the 71 machines up and running. The new shop is doing great and I just wanted to say thanks for all their effort to make it a success".
We at Traver IDC were happy to help out another Connecticut manufacturer expand their operations and better serve the manufacturing community.
