POSITION:

Assistant Professor/Coordinator of Mechanical Engineering Technology 10-Month, Tenure Track Position

ANTICIPATED STARTING DATE: August 25, 2009

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Master of Science in Engineering or other related discipline and four years’ college teaching experience, or eight years work –related experience, or a combination of 2 years teaching experience and 4 years work related experience. Applicants who do not meet the minimum qualifications as stated are encouraged to put in writing precisely how their background and experience have prepared them for the responsibilities of this position. They must also provide appropriate references. Exceptions to the degree requirements may be made for compelling reasons.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the supervision of the Division Director, the Assistant Professor/Coordinator will teach laboratory courses in mechanical engineering technology and perform the duties of a coordinator. The candidate’s responsibilities include: student recruitment and advisement, committee work, participation in special college projects, development of new innovative instructional techniques, course offerings or programs, and participation in community service consistent with the institutional mission.

MINIMUM SALARY: $51,520 annual approximate, plus excellent medical insurance, retirement and related fringe benefits.
